Our Process

  • Step 1

    Order your keepsake jewelery and select 'yes' to receive a fingerprint kit. We will send your free fingerprint kit within 24h.

  • Step 2

    Complete your fingerprint kit following the instructions carefully. Upload a clear photo using the QR code or via email.

  • Step 3

    We prepare your fingerprint for engraving. Your jewelry is laser engraved locally in Montréal and shipped to you within 48h.

How Do I Capture The Perfect Fingerprint?

Tips for Getting the Best Fingerprint:

  • Ensure your hands are clean, and use a hard, flat surface for capturing prints.
  • Use light taps to apply the ink—less is more!
  • Make several prints so we can choose the best one.
  • If taking a baby’s or child’s print, try doing so when they’re relaxed or asleep for best results.

  • Once finished, take clear, close-up photos of your prints.

Avoid

  • Pressing too hard—if you see a dark blob, tap lightly instead.
  • Rolling your finger on the paper—just tap and lift.

Can I Use an Existing Print to Create a Générations Piece of Jewelry?

Of course! Simply share the image of your fingerprint when checking out or send it us by email.

It will be our pleasure to engrave it. 

How Long Does The Process Take?

Timeline for Orders Requiring a Fingerprint Kit:

  • Kit Dispatch:
    Your fingerprint kit will be shipped within 24 hours (Monday–Friday) of receiving your order with Canada Post. Orders placed over the weekend will be sent on Monday.
  • Kit Completion and Return:
    Once you receive your fingerprint kit, it is your responsibility to complete it and send it to us using the QR code included to expedite the process. You can also send us a picture of your fingerprint by email.
  • Keepsake Creation:
    After we receive your fingerprint, we. will take 48h to edit, engrave, polish and ship your order.
  • Communication:
    You will receive email updates at each stage of the process. For more details on shipping, returns, and international orders, please visit our Shipping & Returns page.

Timeline for Orders Without a Fingerprint or Pawprint Kit:

  • Option 1: Upload During Checkout
    You can upload your print directly at the time of ordering. On the product page of your chosen jewellery item, select "No" and submit your fingerprint in the upload box.
  • Option 2: Upload After Placing Your Order
    You can upload your print later by email. Simply enter your order details to begin the upload process.
  • Keepsake Creation:
    After we receive your fingerprint, we. will take 48h to edit, engrave, polish and ship your order.
  • Communication:
    You will receive email updates at each stage of the process. For more details on shipping, returns, and international orders, please visit our Shipping & Returns page.

Is It Safe? Do You Use Or Share The Fingerprints?

Yes, the process is completly safe. We do not use or share any fingerprints that you share with us. We do keep you fingerprints on file for future orders, unless you request otherwise.
